Sepideh Gharaie, PhD

Sepideh earned her PhD from Morgan State University, where she developed a cyanobacterial strain that was able to produce high amounts of lipid for biofuel applications, which has yielded two US patents. She joined Rabb’s lab as a postdoctoral research fellow in 2019 and her research was focused on the role of gut microbiota and possible mechanisms of repair from acute kidney injury (AKI). Her research interests include AKI, microbiome, T lymphocyte therapy and AKI to CKD progression.
